With October approaching, the ghosts and ghouls will start lurking. Nothing could get scarier than that. Unless…one could experience these monsters with their own eyes. 

Niles Scream Park, located in Berrien County, Michigan, is one of the top haunted attractions in the country. The scream park has been open since 1974 and offers 44 acres of spine-chilling attractions. Each year, Niles switches up their scream park to give the visitors variety, yet they somehow keep it as scary as the last. From clowns to blood-sucking vampires, Niles Scream Park is constantly equipped with plenty of horror villains. 

According to www.haunted.org, the Niles Scream Park personal website, “in 2023, the Park donated more than $150,000 to local charities.” Since 1996, the scream park has donated over $2,500,000 to non-profit organizations. Niles Scream Park also has 150 to 200 volunteers per night as staff for their attractions. These volunteers come from Boy Scout groups, booster groups for colleges and high schools, and church youth groups!

Riley Buell, a senior at Elkhart High School, states that when Niles Scream Park opens, it’s the best time of the year! “Going to Niles is definitely my favorite fall activity,” claims Buell. “I really appreciate a good scare and Niles is definitely the best place to get that!” Buell also appreciates the fact that Niles Scream Park donates a large amount of their proceeds each year. “I just think that’s really awesome,” states Buell. “I love the fact that they are showing up for the community that shows up for them.” Caden Comer, also a senior at Elkhart High School, feels extremely similarly to Buell. “I had no clue that they donated so much money to charities, that’s really cool!” Comer exclaims.
