Winter is a season that brings not only frosty air and shimmering snow but also a sense of heartwarming unity and celebration. Join Elkhart High School this December as they showcase just that.

This year, Elkhart High School is taking winter festivities to a whole new level with an upcoming winter concert that promises an enchanting blend of choir, orchestra, and band performances. What makes this event even more special? The introduction of a Silent Auction hosted by Elkhart High School’s National Honor Society. The auction will bring a touch of excitement, community, and curiosity to the Winter Celebration Concert.

Held on Tuesday, Dec. 12, the auction will be set up in the 10-12 Campus Cafeteria from 6 p.m. to approximately 7:15 p.m. The Winter Celebration Concert will follow in the auditorium starting at 7 p.m. Both events are open to the general community and any interested adults.

NHS member and chairperson for the fundraiser, Emily Holtz, discloses that this is the “first big fundraiser for this year’s [chapter] of NHS.” Yet, rather than being nervous to set expectations for the rest of the year, she eagerly awaits to make this fundraiser “more successful than previous years.”

NHS members have been hard at work to prepare special items for the auction. However, as is with other similar events, the auction is only complete with participation from the community. Holtz, confident in the group’s ability to succeed, shares that they’ve been diligent in getting the word across the Elkhart community, hanging flyers in other Elkhart Community Schools and participating companies. Yet, despite the fear of uncertainty, Holtz continues to uphold an optimistic attitude, “I believe that the community will show up to support, and I think the concert will help with the participation.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on a curated selection of goodies generously donated by local businesses and community members. Expect handmade several Notre Dame Under Armour items, footballs for autographing, crochet items, gift cards & baskets, wooden ornaments, tickets to a show at Premier Arts, and so much more!

The talented students performing in the concert have also worked hard, diligently rehearsing to deliver a mesmerizing sound and uplifting event before the holiday break. The concert serves as a platform for these young musicians to showcase their dedication to the craft, creating an immersive experience for the audience. Come together to celebrate the season, support these talented musicians, and make a positive impact on the community.

Mark this calendar date for both events, where the magic of music meets the thrill of giving. This promises to be an unforgettable evening filled with talent, community, and the joy of contributing to a good cause.

Hi, I’m Claudia Rosales and am joining my second year on the team as a senior! Within my first year on The PENNANT, I’ve learned an incredible amount of new and valuable input from the student body and want to do that again this year. I’m a believer that giving students a voice, especially in such a huge school setting, is vital. I admire literature, aspire to create art, and hope to share new perspectives and inspire other students during my final year here.
