Wondering What to Do on a Rainy Day?

Bianca Morales, Writer

The day seems old and gloomy, as people open their eyes to the sound of rain drops against the bedroom window, bringing such a soothing sound. There is laziness about them that makes people want to stay late in bed and loaf around all day. These are the types of days—the cozy, comforting days—many look forward to in the Fall.

So, it’s another rainy day in Indiana: not one for the books. But, if reading is “your thing,” then this is the perfect day to do it. “On rainy days,” confesses Zachary Mann, 10, “I like staying inside and reading. There’s really nothing else to do,” he adds, “so I just enjoy it.”

Others, however, prefer more communal activities, such as playing board games like UNO and dominos or simply enjoying each other’s company. Still, there are a handful of people who would rather commune with nature than with their fellow man. “I love chilly, gloomy days because I can go outside and feel small droplets roll down my skin,” confides Guadalupe Marquez, 9. Why? The answer is apparently quite simple: “It’s very fun!”
