One’s favorite Hollywood stars may find themselves in the spotlight–not for the deranged characters played on screen but, instead, for nefarious actions occurring in their off-screen lives. In fact, a lot of the “crazy things” happening behind the scenes in Hollywood are finally being exposed.
U.S. rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs’s (a.k.a. P. Diddy) arrest and case has sparked outrage throughout social media and allowed other victims to speak up on their experiences entangled with Diddy. This may seem like the only incident of this occurrence, but in all reality, this was just one of the many to be made public.
Diddy, one of the most influential figures in the music industry, was arrested on Sept. 16 and now sits behind bars. He was accused of running a criminal enterprise that was linked to human trafficking, kidnapping, and much more. Prosecutors say he used this criminal enterprise to abuse numerous people for at least 15 years.
His case provoked great attention in the media and public eye. However, there remains vast controversy surrounding whether Diddy is responsible for this incident. EHS senior Khyri Lancaster is not surprised by P. Diddy’s actions, but he was in shock when he found out that several other celebrities were involved. He says, “I feel that P. Diddy plays a big role in the scheming in Hollywood.” Sharing what he has learned through reports, Lancaster adds, “He was threatening careers and even had people murdered in the past who made an effort to expose his behavior.” When Diddy’s home was raided, prosecutors were said to have found sketchy supplies that were used during Diddy’s so-called “Freak-offs”–sexual exploits. Some believe that these celebrities are being controlled by something far greater than themselves. Lancaster continues, “I simply believe that some higher force is involved with these stars that causes them to play a part in these terrible acts. Sometimes they pay their way to victory…and it shows.”
Several other celebrities—Beyoncé, Usher, Jay-Z, and Mary J. Blige, to name a few—were said to be involved with Diddy’s “parties,” where the sex trafficking and abuse was claimed to occur. Sociology teacher Mr. Stephen Asbury attempts to explain this behavior: “I believe that money moguls are a large group of individuals who are involved. Do I think they know everything that’s going on? Probably not, but they will do whatever it takes to make the buck.” These stars have learned to keep quiet about the evils that are occurring behind closed doors.
Diddy’s A-list pals have reportedly been quietly paying off victims to avoid being named publicly. To this, Asbury adds, “We’ve heard lots of rumors about celebrities, but this is just another incident where we get a look behind the curtain. Most celebrities don’t want to hinder their own careers, so they keep quiet about everything in order to keep themselves safe.”
It’s unfortunate to say that money-hungry celebrities will do anything to keep their careers alive, even if that means someone is getting by doing terrible deeds. This is but one of the many public incidents that have been exposed in recent years. As appalling as they are, what is more horrifying is the number that still remain as the silent secrets of Hollywood.
