Hanna Al-Aloosi, Staff Writer

Ever wanted something fluffy, delicious…and French? Le Macaron in downtown Elkhart is the perfect place to be.

“You take a bite out of a macaron, and it’s like walking down the streets of Paris.” Ashley Dixon, a junior at EHS, admits, complimenting the extraordinary pastry and coffee shop.

Le Macaron has been open and going strong since 2022. All products are made with amazing ingredients; notably, they are gluten-free and are made with no preservatives. Dixon comments, “There is something for everyone. And, no matter what you pick, everything is delicious!” To whet one’s appetite, go in to sample any of these: sorbets, truffles, eclairs, croissants, gourmet chocolates, meringues, Napoleons, tarts, cakes, coffees…and so much more. Their true specialties are fluffy, delicious French pastries and authentic macarons.

“They even do big catering orders or even small personalized ones,” Dixon adds. Looking for that special addition to a graduation party? Hosting Easter dinner? Just having friends over for the evening? Le Macaron is a place to check out. They cater weddings, birthday parties, and social events of all sizes.

Now, curiosity might have killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back by explaining when and where it is possible to access this magnificent authentic French pastry establishment. They are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and  from 10 a.m. to 7  p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. If planning a Sunday brunch, plan ahead, as the shop is on Sundays. Want to check them out? They can be found near The Lerner Theatre, more specifically across the street from the Hotel Elkhart and Tapestry Collection by Hilton. Locations that give the same quality and deliciousness are also in Goshen and Mishawaka.

Le Macaron is the perfect place to stop in for a quick cup of coffee or a snack. It might even prove to be a new hangout spot with friends and/or family! “I can’t wait to come back and try something new!” Dixson exclaims.  Or, if ever in need a last-minute holiday, birthday, or other celebration gift–, or just looking for something sweet  to eat–stop by at Le Macaron and say bonjour to everyone! It is trés magnifique!
