The 4th Annual Elkhart AFJROTC Military Ball, planned by Central and Memorial Cadets, took place Feb. 15 in Central’s cafeteria with nearly 200 attending. Guest speaker JeNeva Adams noted the leadership role these individuals take in uniting both schools, as well as the service they offer locally.
Guests entered the cafeteria through a saber arch formed by Cadets. A moving ceremony honoring the country’s POWs and MIAs followed.
Afterward, a group photo was taken and the guests enjoyed an evening of food and cake, catered by Elkhart Community Schools, as well as dancing.
Also attending were school board members Carolyn Morris, Babette Boling, and Doug Weaver; Elkhart Community Foundation member Vonnie Trumble; and AFJROTC instructors Col. Frank Rossi and SMSgt. Yoketha Sims (Central) and Maj. Jeff Dorman and SMSgt. Scott Rutledge (Memorial).
The evening concluded with Cadets reciting their creed and retiring the colors.
