January Ushers In A Year Of Musical Fun

The new year is right around the corner–and so are some local events.
With the new year on its way, there are many activities for people to look forward to. In fact, 2022 will usher in new things for many people; this is a great time to plan some fun things to do. On Jan. 15, Jacquees is coming to the Morris Performing Arts Center. Jacquees is a singer who started his career in 2011. In 2016, his song B.E.D was on the Top 100 for seven weeks. He mainly sings pop and R&B. “I enjoy listening to Jacquees. I think it would be fun to go see him,” states Makayla Goodman, a sophomore at Elkhart High School.
On Jan. 21, Country singer Eric Church will be performing at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Country singer. Although Grand Rapids is a couple hours away, it is still pretty close to home. “Me and my mom like to listen to country music,” says Felicity Estes, a sophomore at Elkhart High School. She believes this could be a fun family road trip.
There are also many other local events going on in early 2022–each promising to start 2022 off on a positive note. Whether its a mental health thing to do alone or a family bonding experience, getting out in 2022 should bring music to one’s ears.
