Windy, cold nights, Christmas lights, and holiday drinks…but, where to get the best holiday drink?

The debate of who has the better drinks, Starbucks or Dunkin, is very intense. Starbucks has always been known for its frappuccinos, refreshers, coffees, and ordering complex beverages. Dunkin may have started as more of a donut place, but they have expanded their company. Dunkin now is selling a bunch of different coffees and refreshers–and even offers boba.

It’s the perfect season to start making creative beverages! Everyone looks forward to the staple holiday flavors that are in store. Peppermint, hot chocolate, and eggnog are one of the classics, but what about other flavors? Each company has its unique way of showing its holiday spirit to the community. Hannah Osmun, a senior, excitedly says, “I love this time of year for some Holiday Drinks!”

Starbucks has always had its hot chocolate all year round. The holiday drinks have started in early November. Starbucks has started fall with Pumpkin Spice coffee, which can be hot, iced, cold brew, or even frappuccinos. More to the winter drinks, they offer their classical Peppermint Mocha, a tooth-aching Caramel Brulee Latte, and Chestnut Praline Latte. For those who like more of a spice, there is Toasted White Mocha, it similar to the original white mocha drink but it’s Toasted White Mocha. Their most recent beverages are the Irish Cream Cold Brew and the Iced Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte. The Iced Sugar Almond Milk Latte has customers swooning, becoming their new favorite! 

Dunkin has decided that this holiday season is for those white mocha hardcore fans. Starting with their beverages, they have Hot/Iced Toasted White Chocolate Signature Latte, and they even decided to switch it up to White Mocha Hot Chocolate. They also have the basic Hot/Iced Peppermint Mocha  Signature Latte. Hot Holiday blend is one of the newer coffees that tastes like different classical desserts, such as gingerbread houses, fruit cake, and pies! 

Which place has the better drinks? Osmun says, “I prefer Starbucks, because it has better flavor, and the coffee there isn’t watered down like Dunkin. They also have a wide variety of drinks.” She goes on to say, “Dunkin is slightly cheaper, but I don’t think it’s worth the drinks.” 

‘Tis the season to get festive drinks, fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la. Starbucks and Dunkin do have similar options when it comes to their drinks, but each put their signature touch on it. Where is the best place to get the holiday drinks? Osmun says, “Starbucks all the way!”
