A new edition is it the best decision?

Polo G is re-releasing his album Hall of Fame with an addition of 14 songs! Polo G has been the word on the street for some time now ,and is considered the “G.O.A.T” (greatest of all time) of the current, modern rap game. He had released Rapstar on Apr. 9, 2021—and by Apr. 24, 2021, Rapstar was ranked at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 on the chart, with over 6,300 sales, and 77.7 million streams. This song became Polo G’s first-ever U.S. No. 1 single, and second song to reach the Top 10.

Elkhart sophomore D’Angelo Escamilla expresses his opinion on Polo G: “I think he’s good…but, personally, I barely listen to him—there’s just other rappers that have more experience than he has. He does have good flow, but he doesn’t have that much variety in his songs, and most of them sound the same.” In comparison to Escamilla’s response, Logan Hetchler—also an Elkhart Sophomore, says: “I think his new song is fire, and his new album is going to be even better. But, I don’t think he’s the ‘goat’—he is definitely Top 5 in the current rap game, though.”

Both sophomores were able to agree on Polo G’s newest release Bad Man. “It’s fire—he was matching the flow of the beat, and he actually had some fire lyrics. I honestly think he didn’t pay too much homage to the old song but made it better; it was like a newer version of it,” stated Escamilla excitedly. However, Hetchler agreed, albeit a bit more reluctantly: “I think Bad Man was overrated, it had like one really good part, but besides that, it was alright; it’s like a new version of smooth criminal in today’s style.”

Hall of Fame 2.0 is set to be released Friday, Dec. 3, 2021. Die-hard fans anticipate the re-drop for the album with much vigor, already having accumulated a total of 181.9 million on-demand streams of the album’s songs during just the first week after he announced the arrival of this album. With this, Polo G has also received his first-ever No. 1 album on the Billboard 200. Hall of Fame 2.0 has already given Polo G a lot of attention—but will the fans think it lived up to “the hype”?
